A key feature is its deep integration with the Nous Research Hermes Agent, mirroring agent states (e.g., 'working' when busy, 'idle' when done, 'wave' on session start, 'kiss' on session end) through agent lifecycle hooks. Cloe also includes a canvas whiteboard for visual collaboration using an Excalidraw overlay and a built-in chat window that functions as a standalone Hermes client. Installation is straightforward for macOS and Android, with an option to build from source. An HTTP API is provided for simple programmatic control over the character's actions and expressions.
