Hermes Curator Evolver is a plugin designed for Nous Research Hermes Agent, enabling an evidence-driven approach to AI skill maintenance and improvement. Inspired by SkillClaw, this local-first plugin helps Hermes Agent users who rely heavily on skills to ensure their operational memory (debugging playbooks, deployment habits, project conventions) evolves based on real usage. It provides functionalities like generating local evidence reports before any skill update, creating dry-run proposals for review, and offering explicit write approval with target-hash checks and rollback capabilities. The plugin emphasizes safety and transparency, allowing for safe unattended maintenance limited to bounded managed blocks and offering optional semantic search/rerank when explicitly enabled. It distinguishes itself from general AutoML systems by focusing on controlled, reviewable skill improvements, primarily for local, agent-created skills, and by skipping official/bundled skills to prevent unintended modifications. New features include `auto-run --variants N` for generating and scoring bounded update variants and `candidates-mine` to process session evidence into a human-review queue, classifying findings as memory, skill updates, new skills, or evaluation cases. The default path is model-free, reversible, and designed for inspectability before any changes are applied.
